1. Who we are and how to reach us
Wealthii Kids is operated by Tide Turner Learning Inc. ("Wealthii," "we," "us," or "our"), located at 65 Skinners Road, Portugal Cove-St. Philip's, NL A1M 1S2, Canada. This policy covers the Wealthii Kids mobile app and related services (the "Service").
For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights over your child's information, contact us at privacy@tideturnerlearning.com.
This Wealthii Kids Privacy Policy is separate from any privacy policy that may apply to our other products. It governs the children's app specifically.
2. Our approach to children's privacy
Wealthii Kids is built specifically for children. We comply with applicable children's privacy frameworks, including the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25), and the EU/UK GDPR. We obtain verifiable parental consent before saving any personal information associated with a child profile to our servers.
We build to the strictest of these standards by default: we collect only what is reasonably necessary for the app to work, and we never condition your child's participation on disclosing more information than necessary.
3. How we obtain your consent (and what happens before consent)
Your child can begin the experience before any personal information is stored. When the app first opens, the introductory experience runs locally on the device and stores no personal information about your child on our servers. Nothing about your child is saved to our systems until you, the parent, complete the consent step.
Two consent paths, depending on the tier:
- Free tier (email-plus consent). To save your child's learning profile on our servers, we obtain verifiable parental consent via an "email-plus" confirmation. We send an initial consent link to the parent's email address, followed by a confirmatory email outlining your ongoing parental rights and instructions for withdrawing consent at any time.
- Paid tier (app store transaction). If you purchase a subscription, parental consent is verified through the payment processing mechanism of the Apple App Store or Google Play.
You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 8).
4. What information we collect
From your child (kept to a minimum)
- A dragon nickname, chosen from preset options: your child's dragon's name, not your child's real name.
- A general age range / age band.
- Learning and play data: lessons completed, in-app "gem" balance (earned in the app only), decorations placed, chosen saving goal, and similar progress information.
- An internal, randomly generated profile identifier used only to save progress.
From you, the parent
- Your email address (to create the account, confirm consent, and contact you).
- A parent PIN you set to protect the parent area, which we store only in a securely hashed form (we never store the PIN itself).
- Your subscription status if you subscribe, received from our payment processor (see Section 6). We do not collect or store your payment card details; those are handled by the app store.
Automatically
- Limited technical and diagnostic data needed to keep the app working and fix problems, such as app version, device type/operating system, and crash/error reports. We minimize these fields and do not use them to identify or profile your child.
Age signal: where the platform provides an age category (for example, a device-level age range), we may receive that signal to apply the right protections. We keep it siloed and use it only for compliance, never for profiling.
What we do NOT collect from your child: real name, email address, phone number, precise or geographic location, contact lists, photographs, or audio. We do not build advertising or behavioral profiles of your child. There are no social features and no user-generated content: your child cannot post, message, or share free-text content.
5. How we use information
We use the information above only to:
- operate the app and save your child's learning progress and sanctuary;
- personalize the learning experience within the app (based on in-app choices, never a personality test or profiling);
- obtain and manage your parental consent and your subscription;
- protect the Service against fraud, abuse, and security threats;
- maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the app; and
- communicate with you, the parent, about the account, consent, and important service matters.
We do not use your child's information for marketing or advertising, and we do not use it to build profiles of your child.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your child's personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes or for advertising. We share minimal data only with the trusted service providers that operate the app on our behalf, under strict data-processing terms that require them to protect the information and use it only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase: database hosting and backend, with data hosted in Canada (AWS region ca-central-1).
- RevenueCat: manages and validates subscription status between the app stores and our backend. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app-user identifier and subscription-purchase events, and we retain a ledger of subscriber lifecycle events (such as renewals and cancellations) to keep entitlements accurate. RevenueCat does not receive your child's learning data.
- Apple App Store / Google Play: process all payments and provide platform-level age and parental-consent mechanisms.
- SendGrid: sends the parental-consent confirmation and account emails to parents.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the safety and rights of users. And in the event of a business transfer, subject to the protections in this policy.
7. Data security
We use technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, server-authoritative data handling so balances and entitlements cannot be altered by the app itself, and monitoring for unusual activity. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your child's information using industry-standard practices.
8. Your rights as a parent
You are in control of your child's information. At any time you may:
- Review the personal information we have collected from your child;
- Delete your child's information and/or close the account; and
- Withdraw your consent and stop any further collection or use of your child's information.
You can exercise these rights from the parent area of the app (behind the parent gate) and/or by contacting us at privacy@tideturnerlearning.com. If you withdraw consent or delete the account, we will stop collecting your child's information and delete it as described in Section 9, except where we are required to retain limited records by law.
Depending on where you live, you (on your child's behalf) may have additional rights (such as access, correction, portability, and restriction of processing) under laws including the GDPR/UK GDPR, Quebec's Law 25, and U.S. state privacy laws. To exercise them, contact us at privacy@tideturnerlearning.com.
9. How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations:
- Child profile and learning data: retained while the account is active; deleted when you delete the profile/account or withdraw consent. Free child profiles that remain inactive for 24 months are automatically deleted or anonymized.
- Parent account data: retained while the account is active.
- Subscription/payment records: retained for 6 years as required for financial and legal recordkeeping.
- Diagnostic/log data: retained for up to 12 months.
- Support communications: retained for 3 years.
When you delete your child's information or account, we remove it from our active databases within 30 days and from our routine backup archives within 90 days, and we instruct our service providers to do the same.
10. Where information is processed (international transfers)
Our database is hosted in Canada. If you use the app from outside Canada, your information will be processed in Canada and, for limited service-provider functions (such as subscription validation and transactional email), in the United States. Where required, we rely on recognized transfer safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.
11. Features not yet in the app
Some features are planned but not part of the current app, including any AI tutor or voice/recording feature. We are flagging them here for transparency. If we add them, we will update this policy and, where required, obtain renewed parental consent first. Our intended design for any future voice feature is to process speech on the device, never store raw audio, and avoid open-text input for younger children.
12. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your child's information, we will notify you (for example, in the app or by email to the parent) and, where the change requires it, obtain renewed parental consent before the change takes effect.
13. Contact
If you have questions about this policy or our handling of your child's information (or if you believe we have collected information from a child without the required parental consent), please contact us at privacy@tideturnerlearning.com. If you believe we have inadvertently collected a child's information without consent, contact us and we will delete it.
